Abstract
Objective: A comparative study between the views of the Holy Quran and Western philosophers on the issue of the right to die will lead to the development of the field of human rights studies. Understanding the Qur'an's point of view on this subject provides researchers in the field of human rights and medical law with a new perspective on the position of human beings from the perspective of Islam. Materials and methods: The present library research has compared, examined and analyzed these opinions and opinions by collecting the most important opinions of Western philosophers about the right to die and comparing them with the verses of the Qur'an in a descriptive-analytical way. The method of collecting information is based on library tools. Findings: By examining the verses of the Qur'an, we found that the Qur'an considers man as the trustee of his body and soul, and while respecting the right of human life, considers the right of death to belong only to the Lord and Creator of mankind. Conclusion: The principles and foundations of belief have a profound effect on the limits of human rights and duties towards his body and soul, which results in the formulation of two types of human rights. The religious teachings of the Qur'an indicate the trustworthiness of man towards his members and his soul. According to the theory of the relationship of trust, a person cannot have any arbitrary possession of his body and soul.
