Abstract
The importance of theology methodology is due to the fact that differences in methods over the course of history have led to the emergence of various and sometimes deviant ideas. In this article, with a brief reference to the history of the debate, the methods of theology in the early period and how it is used in theology and the argumentation of Shiite theology are discussed. Also, the reasons for the emergence of theological methods and the three approaches of extra-religious, intra-religious and the sum of the two in the method of theology have been stated. Also, the theological schools of Hadith, Mu'tazilites and Ash'arites have been briefly reviewed and the characteristics of the Shiite theological school have been enumerated.
