Abstract
The purpose of the research was to compare the effectiveness of the treatment of affectophobia and the treatment of emotion on the marital intimacy of women with low marital satisfaction. This research was part of the semi-experimental designs with pre-test-post-test-follow-up of three groups. The statistical population of the research was made up of women with low marital satisfaction who referred to counseling centers in Tehran in 1400. Sampling method was available voluntarily. After stating the objectives and implementation process of the research and checking the entry conditions, 45 women were selected from among the eligible women and assigned to two experimental groups (15 people in each group) and a control group (15 people). The research tool included Walker and Thompson's (1983) Marital Intimacy Scale. Research data were analyzed using Spss-V23 software and mixed variance analysis test. The results of the data analysis showed that emotion-oriented treatment interventions and affectophobia treatment interventions had a significant effect on marital intimacy in women with low marital satisfaction in the participants of the experimental groups compared to the control group, and there was no difference between the two experimental groups regarding other variables. Finally, it can be concluded that therapists can use both interventions for the marital intimacy of women with low marital satisfaction
