Depression is from the most prevalent disorders which devotes many theories and therapeutic models to itself in psychology literature. Each kinds of these therapeutic methods are proposed due to their specific theory from disorders causality and normality criteria. Today religious psychology dedicates its research to subjects in a religion which devotes to behaviour and mental changes. Explaining therapeutic models based on Islamic approach can be antecedent for effective and less relapse in Iranian population. The goal of this study was to assess the effectiveness of Quranic intervention for major depression. This research was based on Single case experimental plan with multiple baselines design. Two scales of depression were used in this research; the first was diagnostic depression inventory based on Quran and the second was 21-items Beck depression inventory (BDI-II) which have conducted before and after intervention and also after 3 months follow up.This Quranic therapy was effective in reducing depression causes and symptoms in both scales. The results from follow-up also showed the positive changes continued in 3 months after intervention finished.The resultsproved the effectiveness of the Quranic package for humility depression and also clinical depression. The brevity, the specificity and the effectivity are the strength of this Quranic package for depression and differentiates it from other kinds of psychotherapies.
