Abstract
Introduction: All humans need a sense of security and peace throughout their lives, especially during their high-risk youth, but most of them do not know how to achieve that psychological security. One of the most important and effective ways to feel physiological security and safety for youth is to have a direct and immediate connection with their god. The aim of the present study was to investigate the psychological effects of prayer and praying with God and its effect on mental health. This research was conducted using the descriptive-analytical method, through searching in the religious and psychology references.
Conclusion: Prayer has greatness so that God describes praying as great action. Prayer is the verbal or non-verbal expression that comes from within the believer. Increasing the capacity of acceptance arising from the knowledge of God, the existence of the homogeneity principle between God and human, and the strengthening of inner faith are the motivating factors of prayer.
