Abstract
The purpose of this research was to compare the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral intervention and positive psychotherapy on dysfunctional attitudes among cancer patients who underwent surgery. In terms of its nature, this research is part of applied research, and in terms of implementation, it is part of semiexperimental research, with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population in this research included all cancer patients who underwent surgery at Sinai Hospital in Mashhad between April 1402 and September 1402. Among the statistical population, 200 people were purposefully selected and the dysfunctional attitudes questionnaire was distributed among them to answer, and among them, 60 people were cancer patients who underwent surgery (breast, stomach, and pancreas) who received a lower score in the dysfunctional attitude questionnaire. 20 people were selected completely randomly and placed in three groups (2 experimental groups and 1 control group). In this research, two standard demographic information questionnaires and Jung's dysfunctional attitudes questionnaire (1990) have been used, which are based on the cognitive behavioral intervention protocols of Hoffman et al. (2013) and the positive psychology of Nager Rashid and Seligman (2011). The test was carried out. In order to analyze
the statistical data, descriptive statistics indicators and methods including: frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and inferential statistics including: multivariate and univariate analysis of covariance test at 0.05 level were used using SPSS version 23 software. . Finally, the conclusion has been reached that cognitive behavioral intervention (CBT) has an effect on reducing the ineffective attitudes of cancer patients who underwent surgery; Positive psychotherapy has an effect on reducing dysfunctional attitudes of operated cancer patients, also the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral intervention method (cbt) and positive psychotherapy method on reducing dysfunctional attitudes of operated cancer patients is different.
