Abstract
Purpose: In light of Quranic and religious teachings, and given the recent national approach to the discussion of population youth and childbearing, we considered it necessary to share our knowledge about the positive effects of pregnancy and breastfeeding on women’s physical and mental health with the esteemed readers of this journal.
Method: The present study was a systematic review, and medical search engines, including Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar, were used to collect the data. After extraction, the articles were selected and studied, and a summary of the findings was included in the manuscript.
Results: The present article summarizes the results of medical studies on the benefits of childbearing in eight sections, including improving women’s general health, preventing osteoporosis and increasing bone density, preventing women’s cancers, including ovarian, breast, and endometrial cancers, prevention of obesity and diabetes, reduction of menstrual complications and endometriosis, increase in mental health and reduction of neurological and mental diseases and special benefits of breastfeeding for women.
Conclusion: In summary, childbirth and regular and sufficient breastfeeding seem to significantly improve women’s health. These effects are also augmented with the increase in the number of children.
