Abstract

Spiritual health is one of the fundamental pillars of human health, which, along with physical, mental, and social health, plays a decisive role in the happiness and excellence of the individual and society. Spirituality and spiritual health are closely related to religion and religious teachings; therefore, addressing spiritual health with a religious approach is necessary. Considering the exclusive legitimacy of Islam and the Quran in comparison to other religions and divine books on the one hand, and the priority of addressing epistemological foundations and infrastructures on the other, we have tried to extract and explain the foundations of spiritual health from the Holy Quran. Accordingly, the anthropological foundations include: “human transphysical essence”, “human purposefulness”, “human free will”, “human tendency to absolute perfection” and “human immortality”. The value-based foundations include: “moral realism” and “the dependence of true happiness on spiritual health”. "The reality and immateriality of spiritual health" is also the most important ontological foundation, and "theism and god worship" is also the most important theological foundation. In epistemological foundations, ways of studying and understanding metaphysical matters have also been examined. The final conclusion is that spiritual health should be examined and studied within the framework of these foundations. The research method is descriptive-analytical using library resources.
