Abstract
Memory constitutes one of the most vital cognitive functions in humans and other living organisms; without it, essential life processes would be severely compromised. Alzheimer's disease (AD), a form of dementia, stands as one of the most significant neurodegenerative disorders, affecting millions of individuals globally. This pathology not only impacts the patient but also imposes a substantial burden on family members and caregivers regarding the maintenance and care of the affected individual. Numerous studies have demonstrated the significant potential of specific plant extracts and natural compounds in the prophylaxis and treatment of AD, primarily due to their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties. Notable examples include saffron, frankincense, honey, ginger, clove, black raisins, black myrobalan (Terminalia chebula), pomegranate, and apple cider vinegar. Furthermore, certain hygienic practices, such as regular tooth brushing, have been associated with a positive impact on AD prevention. In addition to the aforementioned variables, lifestyle modifications )encompassing proper diet, physical exercise, adequate rest, and cognitive activities( play a pivotal role in preserving neurophysiological health and enhancing memory retrieval capabilities. This study is based on a comprehensive search of medical literature databases, including PubMed and Google Scholar. It presents a review of the narrations (Hadith) attributed to the Fourteen Infallibles (AS) regarding memory enhancement, analyzed through the lens of modern medical science.
