Designing a Model for Monitoring the Mental Health of School Principals Based on Islamic Ethics Indicators

Abstract
The present study was conducted with the aim of designing a model for monitoring the mental health of school principals based on Islamic ethics indicators with a qualitative approach. The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the different dimensions of the mental health of school principals in Kerman province and their relationship with Islamic ethical characteristics. In this study, a qualitative method with a classical grand theory type of semi-structured interviews and participatory observations was used to collect data. The sampling was purposive and the summarization of the findings continued until theoretical saturation, which we achieved with 20 school principals in different schools in Kerman city. The findings of this study showed that monitoring the mental health of school principals based on Islamic ethics should be considered in two individual and organizational dimensions, which are the individual dimension, which includes Islamic ethical characteristics such as trustworthiness, honesty, humility, patience, piety, and sincerity, which are known as key components in the mental health of managers. Also, personality and emotional-emotional characteristics such as stress management, emotional balance and job happiness have an impact on improving the mental state of managers. In addition, cognitive and physical characteristics such as critical thinking, strategic planning and balance between work and rest are also factors that help maintain mental health. The organizational dimension also includes social, educational, spiritual and managerial characteristics. Among the social components, we can mention communication skills, conflict management and social support, which play a role in interpersonal relationships and improving mental health. Also, educational characteristics such as being a role model, encouraging goodness and paying attention to individual differences are effective in improving employee morale and improving the organizational atmosphere. In the spiritual dimension, components such as remembering God, prayer and supplication, faith and religious beliefs are important in decision-making and reducing mental stress of managers. Also, managerial characteristics such as responsibility, consultation and decisiveness are effective in improving the mental health of managers.
